Happy Handprint Puppets
Put a smile on your face with these happy handprint puppets. This is one handprint craft that kids will love! Not only is it totally fun but it is a great way to reuse breakfast cereal boxes and other similar boxes. It also is a great keepsake to remember how small your children are when they are older. Perfect for toddlers and preschoolers (with some help) but also lots of fun for older school-aged kids.
We love crafts that are affordable and to use items that would normally be trash. The boxes that come from cereal are perfect for many crafts as they are thin enough to easily cut but stiff enough not to fall flat like paper. You can use cardstock in place of the cardstock if you don’t have any old food boxes on hand to use.
Happy Handprint Puppets
You Will Need
Below are the items we used to create our Happy Handprint Puppets. If you are missing some of the below items feel free to substitute them for other items that will create a similar effect.
- A breakfast cereal box or similar
- Non-toxic paint
- Paintbrush
- A hand
- Scissors
- Craft glue
- Googly eyes
- Felt
- Craft/ popsicle stick
Let’s Get Creating
Gather all of your supplies and start by flattening your box. Cut the sides off so you are working with a flat piece of card.
Paint the hand that you are wanting to use and place onto the card. Leave to dry and then cut around the handprint.
Cut out a smile from felt and stick onto the dry handprint. Stick on googly eyes. Attach a craft/ popsicle stick to the back using the craft glue and leave until dry.
You now have your own cool happy handprint puppets!
