The Candy Cane Template Printable
Print out the below candy cane template printable. If you do not have a printer you can a candy cane outline using a Sharpie or similar pen. Enlarge or reduce the size of the printable if you are wanting to make a larger or smaller candy cand suncatcher.
Let’s Get Creating
Start by prepping the candy cane suncatcher. Cut around the outline of the candy cane printable and then make a small snip through the black line and cut out all of the white paper on the inside of the candy cane. Prepare enough contact paper to cover one side of the candy cane. Peel it back and carefully stick the cut-out candy cane black side down onto the contact paper. Cut the tissue paper into small squares.
Now it is time to decorate the candy cane. Use the small squares of tissue paper to cover the inside of the candy cane. Lay them flat and overlap them slightly. The overlapping creates a nice effect when up on the window.
Once covered with tissue paper cut another piece of clear contact paper and cover the candy cane. Use the scissors to carefully cut around the outside of the candy cane. To extend the fun add on some adhesive gems or other decorations.
Stick on your window! We used a little blu-tack but if you are worried about the blu-tack showing from the outside of the window you could also use a small amount of gluestick.
