Crafty days in June! These days aren’t specifically about crafts rather the important and fun celebrated days of June that you can use for crafty inspiration with your children. We love days that are dedicated to special holidays and events that we can make crafts and fun activities for! For children, this gives the opportunity to talk about the special day and adults to reflect on why the day is important. Or maybe it is just a day for celebrating something fun either way we don’t really need much of an excuse to have some crafty fun!

National Nail Polish Day

3 June- World Bicycle Day
Go for a bike ride, read a book like one of our favorites, Bike On Bear, or, draw and craft your own special bicycle.
National Donut Day
The first Friday in June. The perfect excuse to indulge in donuts. Or how about making one of these cute donut softies, either our adorable sloth or unicorn. Both patterns are easy to sew so perfect for beginners.
5 June-
Hot Air Balloon Day
Draw or craft a hot air balloon to celebrate this special day. How about making a loved one a flower hot air balloon hair clip holder or partake in some hot air balloon string art.
World Environment Day
Head out and collect rubbish or stay in and do a craft that focuses on the world environment. Our We Love The Earth craft is fun for kids and made out of a recycled cardboard box!

World Ocean Day
World Ocean Day is a day to celebrate the importance of the ocean. To celebrate you could spend the day at the beach or make a craft for one of the many amazing sea creatures found in the ocean. Here is a couple for you to get started with.
Best Friends Day

Red Rose Day

14 June- Flag Day

Father’s Day

16 June- World Sea Turtle Day

A day to raise awareness of the importance of rainforests around the world for the health of the Earth. 23 June- National Pink Day
Such an easy and fun day to celebrate! Dress in pink and create some pink art and crafts or why not make these yummy Simple Pink Meringues!

International Fairy Day
Enter the world of the magical fairy on International Fairy Day. make a fairy craft such as our DIY Popsicle Stick Fairy Garland or create a Stunning Planter Box Fairy Garden.
World Upcycling Day
We love upcycling! From upcycling t-shirts into bags to total furniture transformations! So many kid’s crafts can be made from recycled materials which are low-cost and so much better for the environment compared to buying new. Late June/ Eary July- Matariki
Matariki is a cluster of stars (Pleiades) that rises in mid-winter, marking the start of the Māori New Year. This is widely celebrated throughout New Zealand and will become an official public holiday in 2022. Here are some fun ideas to make for Matariki.
